Explore the Nighttime World of Caterpillars & Moths

The Caterpillar Lab will present an extraordinary and intimate look at the nighttime world of caterpillars, moths, and how to find them. By projecting live caterpillars through a microscopic lens and onto a big screen, through macrophotography and first hand accounts, you'll journey with the experts to learn about these fascinating creatures who are often taken for granted.  Join us to learn how we can explore our own backyard habitats through the eyes of some of their smallest inhabitants!  This special lecture will include time to meet caterpillar specimens up close, and chat with Caterpillar Lab educators about all things local caterpillar.  In-person attendees will also get to explore the grounds and try blacklight flashlights for an exclusive late-night caterpillar search!

Please note: doors will open at 5:30 and visiting with caterpillars will begin at 6.  The presentation will be from 7-8:30, and an optional caterpillar walk will continue after the presentation until 10.

The Caterpillar Lab is a non-profit based in New Hampshire that fosters greater appreciation and care for the complexity and beauty of natural history through live caterpillar educational programs, research initiatives, and photography and film projects. They believe that an increased awareness of one’s local environment is the foundation on which healthy and responsible attitudes towards the broader natural systems of this world are built.
