Join us for a Sagamore Beach property for a tour led by the owner, who has spent years designing, installing, and maintaining ecological landscapes throughout Greater Boston and Cape Cod. She will be joined by her colleague, an award-winning regenerative landscape designer, to share practical insights into creating thriving native landscapes.
Fall is often treated as the end of the gardening season, yet for wildlife it is one of the most important seasons of the year. As insects, birds, and other animals prepare for migration, dormancy, or winter survival, our gardens can provide essential food, shelter, and habitat at a time when those resources are becoming scarce.
This Gathering in the Field will explore how fall gardens can be beautiful, ecologically generous, and resilient. We will look at how layered plantings extend seasonal interest, provide structure, and support wildlife well beyond peak bloom. We will also discuss why fall is such an important time for planting, as warm soils and cooler air temperatures help many plants establish strong root systems with less stress.
By rethinking fall as a season of abundance rather than decline, we can create gardens that feed wildlife, enrich the soil, offer lasting beauty, and better withstand the stresses of a changing climate.
